Moto3 Le Mans FP3: Adrian Fernandez tops a crash filled wet session
It was chaos in Moto3 this morning with many crashes.
Adrian Fernandez came out on top this morning in Moto3 in a crash-filled session, many riders hoped to improve their times and battle for a Q2 spot but the rain prohibited the riders with a chance of this. We saw the times drop by a full 13 seconds with any rider who dared to try and go faster finding their way into the gravel trap fairly quickly. This means that no times from the FP2 session were improved.
The Husqvarna rider Adrian Fernandez was the most fearless rider in the session leading the way on the Max Racing machine, the performance will be confidence-inspiring for the rookie who copped a lot of flack for how he obtained this ride which was seen as ‘unethical’, slowly but surely the young rider is proving why he was chosen to ride in the team this year.
Yuki Kunii was the second-fastest rider of the session with Fernandez and Kunii both needing to go through Q1 later on today, Andrea Migno, John McPhee and Niccolo Antonelli were next up with all three riders already locking in Q2 spots.
Further down the order in this washed-out session we don’t really have too many surprises, Jeremy Alcoba has struggled all weekend long and was running in P26 this session and will be forced to go via Q1 later on today.
