MotoGP Misano FP2: Johann Zarco tops wet FP2

Johann Zarco took the top spot in a wet FP2 session at Misano.

In a wet Misano it was Johann Zarco who was the man who dared to face the rain and lead the way in a Ducati 1-2-3 over the factory Ducati riders, Zarco was able to put down a lap time worthy of 1:42.097, a full 0.533 seconds ahead of Francesco Bagnaia in second. This could be taken as a dress rehearsal for the race with many expecting to see a flag to flag race come Sunday with wet weather forecast, if this is the case a Ducati 1-2-3 on Italian soil would be something extremely special for the home fans that’s for sure with Jack Miller coming home in third place.

Joan Mir was fourth fastest preserving his Q2 spot ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying with Marc Marquez making his way into the top five, rain is such a great leveller isn’t it? Incredibly we saw five manufacturers in the top 10 with absolutely no Yamaha’s as Miguel Oliveira and Danilo Petrucci took up the P6 and P7 positions ahead of Aleix Espargaro in P8.

Rounding out the top 10 were Iker Lecuona who suffered a horror crash and Alex Marquez on the Honda. Yamaha had a torrid time, rare of course with Franco Morbidelli the quickest Yamaha in P13 and Fabio Quartararo behind his ex-teammate Maverick Vinales in P18!
