MotoGP Sachsenring FP2: Miguel Oliveira leads in Germany

Miguel Oliveira is the fastest man in the FP2 session at Sachsenring.

Last time out winner Miguel Oliveira was the quickest man in the FP2 session at Sachsenring, the Portuguese hero pushing his KTM to the limit to post an incredibly quick lap time of 1:20.690 to go top of the session leading a Yamaha duo of Fabio Quartararo then Maverick Vinales by 0.220 seconds to ensure he has a decent buffer to the men behind him. Only two riders were able to break into the 1:20’s namely Oliveira and Quartararo but we can expect much more to come this weekend and possibly even a 1:19 lap time, the record here is held by Marc Marquez who laid down a 1:20.195 lap time back in 2019.

Alex Rins has returned from injury and is showing no signs of ever being hurt in fourth place, he is riding with a broken radius but you wouldn’t be able to tell as he takes the fourth-placed position in the session ahead of a Honda duo of Pol Espargaro then Takaaki Nakagami in sixth place, both Honda’s showing some decent pace despite some crashes from Pol Espargaro who is eating his way through the crash budget.

Aleix Espargaro was the seventh quickest rider leading a duo of Ducati’s with Johann Zarco ahead of Jack Miller, the Bologna boys not suffering much success here with Zarco their fastest man today with Francesco Bagnaia way down the order in last place.

Franco Morbidelli rounded off the top 10 with the Marquez brothers in P12 and P13 with Marc leading brother Alex.
