Scott Redding has had a stunner of a rookie season in the WorldSBK class following a torrid time in MotoGP, rejuvenating himself in BSB which you can read about here. In his rookie season on the Aruba.it Ducati, he amassed a total of 5 x wins and 14 x podiums, pushing Jonathan Rea harder than he has ever been pushed to take the title fight down to the very last round.
This positivity has majorly benefitted the British rider who aims to do one better in 2021 following this season, fresh with the knowledge that he has a good team, great bike and is incredibly fast, he is looking to do one better and break the title streak of rival and also friend, Jonathan Rea who has 6 titles in a row to his name.
Speaking after the test, Redding had only good things to say ahead of 2021, reflecting on the 2020 season saying, “The most important thing is the confidence I have gained, I feel relaxed and the pressure is off my shoulders for 2021 as I am not trying to prove myself in my first year, I have done that and I feel confident.” As the saying goes, ‘a confident rider is a fast rider.’
“Ducati believes in me, the team believe in me and I believe in them, we have some momentum to us. We took it [the title fight] to the last round, if we go to the last round in 2021, I expect to be on top.” Beaming pure confidence ahead of 2021, he admits the bike has some things to improve on and be better and they tested some new parts at the test at Estoril which he expects will help majorly in 2021.
