MotoGP Portimao: Johann Zarco leads the way in FP2

Johann Zarco, the unexpected P1 man in Portimao.

Johann Zarco was the fastest man in Portimao, topping the session by 0.119 over Maverick Vinales in second place, Vinales being fairly consistent this weekend, hopefully, this can translate into the race on Sunday.

Aleix Espargaro remains in the top 3 in FP2 after doing the same in FP1, benefitting from his earlier track time here on the RS-GP.

Fabio Quartararo was the fourth-placed rider, just 0.275 from Zarco in P1 with Brad Binder just 0.005 behind him, the KTM looking fairly impressive at Portimao.

Championship winner Joan Mir took sixth place overall, a better run from the champion than previous Free Practice sessions, Mir leads Dovizioso in his last grand prix weekend and Pol Espargaro in P7, Espargaro in his last KTM race weekend and looking majorly comfortable on the KTM.

Jack Miller and Franco Morbidelli closed out the top 10 with Morbidelli just 0.471 from P1.

Valentino Rossi suffered a crash and ended the session in P22.
