Moto2 Portimao: Luca Marini heads FP2 in Portimao

Luca Marini leads the FP2 session at Portimao as he looks to win the title this weekend.

Luca Marini was the fastest man in FP2 as Sam Lowes majorly improves despite his injury, Marini was able to break the 1:43 barrier, setting a time of 1:42.941, finishing 0.182 faster than Lowes in second place.

We have a not so familiar face in third place in the FP2 session, Lorenzo Baldassarri makes a surprise appearance after being AWOL all season long, he will move to the MV Agusta squad for 2021 after a miserable 2020 season.

Remy Gardner appeared in the top 10 once again, showing impressive pace this weekend and is a podium contender, he finishes ahead of Enea Bastianini who is also looking to win the title this year as 3/4 of the title contenders finish in the top 5 spots of the FP2 session.

Xavi Vierge was the sixth-placed rider ahead of Speed Up duo Jorge Navarro and Fabio Di Giannantonio, the pair having their fair share of crashes recently and will be looking to take a good result this weekend.

The fourth and final title contender Marco Bezzecchi finishes up in P9 ahead of impressive rookie Hector Garzo in P10, 0.473 from P1.
