Moto3 Portimao: Jaume Masia leads FP1 in Portugal

Jaume Masia has struck first, leading the first-ever Portimao FP1 Moto3 session.

Jaume Masia has led the first-ever Moto3 session around Portimao as the lightweight class makes their debut on the Portuguese circuit in Algarve.

Leopard rider Jaume Masia led Romano Fenati by 0.158 seconds at the end of the session following a crash, the pair were joined in the top 3 by championship leader Albert Arenas who looks to seal the deal this weekend and win the championship ahead of his Moto2 move for 2021.

Sergio Garcia continues his recent bout for form, finishing in fourth place ahead of Andrea Migno, the gap between the two a huge 0.249 between the two, Raul Fernandez was just behind in P6.

Deniz Oncu is more consistently at the front in the second half of the season, he sits in P7 ahead of 2020 Rookie of the year Jeremy Alcoba. John McPhee and Gabriel Rodrigo rounded off the top 10 whilst the championship contenders Tony Arbolino and Ai Ogura finish in P11 and P26 respectively.

Raul Fernandez’s little brother Adrian also made his Moto3 debut and finished in last place in his first ride on the Honda.
