MotoGP Le Mans: Pressure on the shoulders of Fabio Quartararo

Fabio Quartararo has the chance to make history this weekend at Le Mans.

Frenchman Fabio Quartararo will race his home race this weekend in Le Mans, France, coming into the race as the championship leader, he will have pressure to perform and maintain this championship lead, but not only this. Quartararo has the chance to be the first-ever French premier class winner at the Le Mans circuit, a goal Johann Zarco was unable to achieve when racing for the French Tech3 outfit wearing a French Shark Helmet (who are the races title sponsor) and French Furygan leathers which would’ve been the French dream. (6 x ‘French’ wordcount, we are on a roll).

Quartararo has already etched his name into the history books as the most successful French premier class rider, holding the record for the most French premier class wins with 3, and at just 21 years old, there are many more to come.

It is crazy to believe that since the circuit was first raced at in 1969 when Giacomo Agostini lapped every other rider, there has not been a single French premier class winner at the track, it would be a historic day for the rider and also the Le Mans circuit if Quartararo is to pull it off. Quartararo did not perform incredibly well last year managing an eighth-placed finish, but he was able to set the fastest lap of the race last season.

He has this pressure on his shoulders and also Joan Mir, Mir is on an incredible run so far and if he can fix his qualifying will also be fighting for the win. If Mir finishes on the podium, he will be the first Suzuki rider since Kevin Schwantz in 1994 to score 4 consecutive Suzuki podiums in the premier class.

Will Fabio be able to take the pressure or will he crack?
