Franco Morbidelli was the fastest man in the FP3 session with Miller leading the way overall.
Franco Morbidelli took the top spot overall in the MotoGP FP3 session, however the times are still way off where they are on the overall timings with Morbidelli’s time 1.3 seconds from Millers best time from yesterday. One of the major reasons behind the slower times is due to the heat on track currently, the sun is beating down on the Losail International Circuit which is causing the temperatures to rise with Aleix Espargaro saying that it is worse than it is in Thailand for the heat.
Thankfully as we go into qualifying the sun will have set bringing down the temperatures and allowing the riders to ride at their full capacity. Franco Morbidelli led the FP3 session overall only 0.165 seconds ahead of Aleix Espargaro who suffered a crash late on into the session on the newly upgraded Aprilia RS-GP, the duo are joined by Luca Marini in the top 3 who was aiming to improve his overall lap time but sadly was still 0.400 away from his best time overall and will be running in the Q1 session later on today.
Alex Rins was the next rider up in P4 with his teammate Joan Mir in P6, the duo were also trying to improve their lap times and push Mir into the Q2 session but unfortunately, this was not to be and the 2020 World Champion has been forced into the Q2 session and must finish within the top 2 spots for a chance to attack pole position, in between the Suzuki boys is Fabio Quartararo, the Frenchman safe knowing that he was able to set a time yesterday worthy of P3 overall and will sail through into the Q2 session.
Takaaki Nakagami was another rider trying and failing to improve his time in P7 ahead of Maverick Vinales and Stefan Bradl in P8 and P9 respectively with Miguel Oliveira capping off the P10 spot as KTM struggle around the Losail International Circuit in Doha.
Jack Miller suffered an early crash into the session and found himself in P15 but will not be phased knowing he was only 0.007 from the lap record yesterday with his teammate Francesco Bagnaia echoing Miller’s thoughts in P21 knowing that he has a chance of breaking the record later today.
