MotoGP 2021: Lorenzo Savadori listed as Aprilia rider on provisional entry list

Lorenzo Savadori has been named as an Aprilia rider on the provisional 2021 entry list.

Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori is listed as being a full-time rider for the factory in 2021 on the provisional entry list, this follows rumours of Joe Roberts being hired by the team, however, the move was cancelled at the very last moment, our sources have confirmed a deal was signed and then cancelled, the reasoning behind this is unconfirmed.

The Italtrans team manager confirmed yesterday that Joe had signed a contract to race for them, therefore will not be racing anywhere else, saying “Roberts has signed a contract with us, maybe he can win some races with us then move to Aprilia in 2022, but he has signed with us and that is final.”

This means that Aprilia are now left without a rider for the 2021 MotoGP season and have listed Lorenzo Savadori as their rider on the provisional list as Bradley Smith steps back into a testing role and nothing more.

The list also confirms the 2021 riders and moves with the rookie’s numbers also being confirmed, Enea Bastianini will run the number #23 given that his normal #33 is occupied by Brad Binder, elsewhere Jorge Martin will swap his traditional #88 for #89 as the #88 is being used by Miguel Oliveira.
