MotoGP Le Mans: Fabio Quartararo takes pole on home soil

In his home race, Fabio Quartararo has taken pole position in one of the last laps of the session to move Miller to P2.

In the final seconds of the session, Fabio Quartararo took the pole position from the hands of Jack Miller, like candy from a child with a lap 0.2 faster than the Australian.

Danilo Petrucci was the shock of the session with his best qualifying of the season in P3, starting the race from the front row behind Miller who was announced as his replacement. Petrucci finished on the podium here last season.

Cal Crutchlow finished in fourth place in qualifying, completely and utterly outstanding given his injuries he is carrying, well done to that man, Crutchlow was able to out-qualify Maverick Vinales who started in Catalunya in P5 also, Vinales will be looking to improve after dropping like a stone last time out.

Andrea Dovizioso was the sixth-placed man rounding off the second row ahead of Francesco Bagnaia on row 3 in P7 who came via Q1.

Pol Espargaro was the fastest KTM rider in P8 with Brad Binder struggling, starting from P17.

Johann Zarco was the 5th Ducati rider in the top 9, dominance by the manufacturer who is not expected to perform well at Le Mans given the lack of straight, he was able to beat Valentino Rossi who starts in P10 following a crash in FP3 earlier.

Suzuki will start from P14 and P16 after a disaster in Q1, Mir in P14 and Rins in P16.
