The move has not been made official yet, however, Jorge Martin has fuelled the fire when speaking to MotoGP.com, hinting at a move but not confirming this. Jorge said, “I am working on a jump to MotoGP next year, it is close but they [the MotoGP team] need some results also I need to feel ready to go [to MotoGP], because the goal is to go to MotoGP but my goal is also to win the Moto2 World Championship, I think 95% I will arrive in MotoGP, next year or in 2 years.”

Martin is hot property at the moment, taking his first win at Austria, plus a second win at Styria before it was taken away from him due to a track limits warning. Martin currently lies in 3rd place in the Moto2 standings, tied with Enea Bastianini in 2nd on points, just 8 points behind title leader Luca Marini. If it was not for the Styria penalty, the lead would be just 3 points.
