MotoGP: Joan Mir feels the Suzuki is a title contender

Joan Mir took his maiden podium at Austria, before nearly winning his first race a week later at the Styrian GP, since then, the Spaniard has labelled the bike a ‘title contender’.

Joan Mir currently sits in eighth place overall in the MotoGP standings, not something you’d usually scream and yell about, but, when you take into consideration that Mir is only trailing Quartararo by 26 points in the standings, your thoughts suddenly change. Mir took his maiden MotoGP podium in the first round at Austria before very nearly winning the Styrian GP before a red flag and a lack of new tyres took him out of contention.

This did not stop Mir praising the bike as being a title contender, despite him and his teammate being in 8th and 13th in the standings respectively.

We have written a piece ourselves about the sheer power and performance of the Suzuki this season and how it could be a genuine title contender, you can read this here.
