WorldSBK: Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge confirmed to HRC

Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge have been confirmed to race for HRC in 2022.

Both Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge have been officially confirmed to move to the HRC WorldSBK squad for 2022 after much speculation regarding their futures, both riders will race the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, making the jump from prototype machinery to a production based championship.

Iker Lecuona has spent multiple years in the World Championship scoring two Moto2 podiums after making his debut in the class at 16-years-old, he made a surprise move to MotoGP for the 2020 and 2021 seasons with the Tech3 KTM squad aboard the RC16 scoring a best result of P6 at Austria this year. The 21-year-old has proven already he possesses much talent and promise at his tender age prompting the decision from Honda to hire him.

24-year-old Xavi Vierge leaves the Moto2 World Championship following six seasons racking up four podiums to his name riding for the Tech3, IntactGP, Marc VDS and Petronas teams with a best result of P2 in the class.
