MotoGP Austria: Maverick Vinales takes pole position
Maverick Vinales carries over his FP3 speed to qualifying to take pole position
It was a dramatic qualifying session with drama between Danilo Petrucci and Aleix Espargaro with Petrucci’s lap being ruined by the Spaniard meaning that Danilo did not get through to Q2.
The front row is made up of Maverick Vinales, Jack Miller then Fabio Quartararo.
Pol Espargaro put some solid laps in at the end but could not make it work for him and will start the race from fifth place just behind Andrea Dovizioso in fourth place.
The second row is capped off by Joan Mir who put a fantastic lap time in to take sixth place.
Row three is home to Brno podium finisher Franco Morbidelli with Alex Rins and Johann Zarco joining him. Takaaki Nakagami tops off the top 10.
