Moto3 Aragon FP2: Deniz Oncu pips Guevara for the lead

Deniz Oncu led the Moto3 FP2 session with the top four within 0.100.

Deniz Oncu was the fastest Moto3 rider this afternoon, the class has been incredibly competitive this weekend with the top three of FP1 split by 0.099 and the top four of FP2 split by a tiny 0.081 seconds with Oncu beating Guevara in the last few minutes of the session. Guevara is expected to contest for the win this weekend following a triple victory at the circuit last year in the FIM CEV Moto3 championship beating the likes of Artigas and Acosta to take victory, it’s no surprise he is only 0.045 off Oncu after a strong P4 in Silverstone.

Darryn Binder finished in third place 0.076 seconds from Oncu with title fighter Sergio Garcia in P4 only 0.005 back from Binder, its highly expected we will see Garcia contesting for the front positions this weekend given he has spent many years racing the Spanish circuit in the CEV and knows the track well. Rounding out the top 5 was Jaume Masia who was 0.104 from Oncu.

We had some rookie surprises in the top 10 of the session, again two riders who have raced here for many years in the CEV namely Lorenzo Fellon and Adrian Fernandez, both riders has solid results here last year and gained a lot of experience in the triple race weekend they took part in, both riders rounded off the top 10 with Fernandez only 0.388 from P1. Incredibly we had 13 riders within 0.5 seconds to Oncu with Pedro Acosta slipping slightly in P19.
