Moto2 Austria FP3: Red Bull KTM riders break lap record

Remy Gardner has destroyed the Moto2 lap record going into qualifying.

Both Remy Gardner and Raul Fernandez break the Moto2 lap record of 1:28.501 previously held by Jorge Martin, the Red Bull KTM Ajo went 1-2 in the FP3 session with Remy Gardner obliterating the lap record to lead as the entire field all improved their times in FP3.

Remy Gardner has proven he wants that top step this week with some serious pace during FP3 to set a new lap record of 1:28.153 seconds before qualifying has even started, serious pace. In third place behind the Red Bull KTM Ajo boys was Augusto Fernandez, the Spanish rider playing games with seventh-placed Aron Canet during the session with the duo battling it out for pride after some dodgy moves and manoeuvres from each rider, should make the race interesting come Sunday!

Ai Ogura continues his incredibly solid season taking P4 in this session as he aims to fight again for the front row of the grid before then his first-ever podium tomorrow, he leads Marco Bezzecchi in fifth place.

Sam Lowes finished only 0.022 seconds from Bezzecchi’s time with Lorenzo Dalla Porta rounding off the top 10, once again taking yet another top 10 finish and a Q2 spot later today, other notable names in Q2 are Celestino Vietti, Thomas Luthi, Somkiat Chantra and Marcos Ramirez.

For Xavi Vierge, Jake Dixon, Bo Bendsneyder, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Joe Roberts, Tony Arbolino and Cameron Beaubier, they will all have to go via the Q1 session this afternoon.
