MotoGP Le Mans FP2: Home rider Johann Zarco goes top in a French 1-2

Allez Allez! Johann Zarco takes P1 in his home round of Le Mans in FP2.

Johann Zarco leads a crash-filled FP2 session in MotoGP as most of the field ended up stacking it with Aleix Espargaro tasting that sweet sweet gravel twice, only 0.095 split the home riders with Fabio Quartararo in second place suffering a crash during the session ruining his stunning blue and red boots and gloves combo he is rocking this weekend, can Zarco break the duck this weekend and take his first victory on home soil?

Maverick Vinales was the third-placed rider, Vinales not enjoying today too much after decking it exiting the pits in FP1 earlier, he took P3 overall but was a massive 0.389 from Zarco in P1 meaning he still has a lot of ground to make up if he wants to battle for victory. A rider who is showing improvement is Pol Espargaro, he confirmed he had found something at the Jerez test and is showing this now running in the top 3, he was on the podium here last time around on the KTM so has good memories and history of the place.

Franco Morbidelli was the fifth-placed rider ahead of Miguel Oliveira who is silently going about his work on the KTM, as previously mentioned they took a podium here last year so have good data to go from and Oliveira has shown some solid speed in the FP1 and FP2 sessions, a dark horse maybe?

Jack Miller suffered a crash early on into the session but was able to place in P7 ahead of Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi with Rossi finally showing some sort of speed placing within the top 10 for the first time in weeks, we can’t see him winning but his first top 10 finish in 11 races would be a good start!

Takaaki Nakagami rounds off the top 10 as we see the crashers outside of this including Bagnaia, Mir, Aleix Esparagro and Alex Marquez.
