Moto2: American Racing confirm Marcos Ramirez for 2021

Marcos Ramirez has been officially confirmed at the American Racing Team for 2021 alongside Cameron Beaubier.

2019 Moto3 P3 finisher Marcos Ramirez has been confirmed at the American Racing Team for 2021 with Cameron Beaubier after making some incredibly impressive improvements during his rookie Moto2 season.

He has previously ridden Moto2 in the CEV Moto2 European championship in 2015 aged 17 as well as the World Supersport championship before returning to the CEV Moto3 class to fight for the title and make his world championship debut, scoring podiums in his first full Moto3 season.

In 2019 he had an outstanding season fighting with teammate Lorenzo Dalla Porta for the title, finishing in 3rd place overall with 2 x wins and 4 x podiums.

He moved to the Moto2 class for 2020 and has made great progress across the season with a best result of P6 at Aragon.

Ramirez: “ I’m very happy for the season so far, We improved a lot and working step by step to achieve our goals for this season, to carry on with the same crew and same material will be a key point to get closer to the top of the World Championship next year.”

Eitan Butbul: “We are very happy with the new 2021 lineup which allows us to continue to work with Marcos Ramirez on his progress, and hopefully fight for the top next season. At the same time, I am very excited to have Cameron join the team on a 2-year deal and fulfill the team’s commitment to bring strong American riders back to the MotoGP paddock. Cameron is a great guy and very strong rider, and we will provide him everything we can on, and off, the track to help him adapt quickly and be at the front at the beginning of the season.”
