MotoGP Le Mans: Bradley Smith leads the way in FP1

In a sopping wet FP1 session, it was Bradley Smith on the Aprilia who capitalised on the wet to lead the way.

Bradley Smith leads four Ducati’s in the top 5 in the first FP1 session at Le Mans. Rain continued to pour overnight in France meaning the track was cold, yet despite this we did not see a single crash in FP1.

It was Bradley Smith on the Aprilia who capitalised on the wet, leading the session with a time of 1:43.804, stealing this from home hero Johann Zarco on the Avintia Ducati in the last lap.

The pair were joined by Danilo Petrucci in the top 3 only 0.220 from P1, Jack Miller was the next fastest man in the session, briefly leading at one point in the session.

Andrea Dovizioso was the 4th Ducati of their top 5, finishing in fifth before a trio of Yamaha’s starting with Maverick Vinales in sixth place, just 0.032 from Andrea Dovizioso on the Ducati.

2021 Petronas Duo of Franco Morbidelli and Valentino Rossi finished the session in P7 and P8 respectively with Cal Crutchlow just behind the Yamaha trio.

Pol Espargaro was the 10th fastest rider, finishing the session 0.956 from P1.
