MotoGP Catalunya: Morbidelli leads FP2 as the pace drops under 1:40
Franco Morbidelli and Johann Zarco were the first two men to drop under the 1:40 mark this weekend setting the fastest laps in FP2.
Brad Binder impressed in FP2 taking a 1:40.008 time which at the time was 0.433 faster than P2, this was until Morbidelli and Zarco spoiled the party, taking P1 and P2 respectively, dropping under the 1:40 mark.
Brad Binder ended the session in P3 overall 0.219 from Morbidelli. Maverick Vinales was the next fastest rider, putting in 20 laps compared with the average 15 laps of the session. Takaaki Nakagami took fifth place, still chasing his first MotoGP podium.
Title contender Joan Mir took the sixth spot ahead of Pol Espargaro. Alex Marquez has impressed with a P8 finish, he is looking to improve on his best result of P7 and is making steps each weekend to get there.
Valentino Rossi who is set to be announced at Petronas SRT this weekend to the ninth spot ahead of Alex Rins in P10.
