WorldSBK – Rea breaks record to take Superpole
Jonathan Rea took his 25th career Superpole at Aragon ahead of Loris Baz then Scott Redding.
In the FP3 session Rea set the fastest time of the weekend, proving he had pace before blitzing the field with a 1:48.860 to take pole.
Loris Baz and Scott Redding will join him on the front row with Redding just 0.304 from Rea’s time.
Row 2 is headed by Rea’s teammate Alex Lowes with another Ducati in the shape of Michael Ruben Rinaldi in 5th place before the fastest Honda of Leon Haslam takes P6.
Teammate to Haslam, Alvaro Bautisa opens up row three in P7 just ahead of Michael van der Mark then Chaz Davies. The top 10 was closed off by Garrett Gerloff just 0.767 from pole.
