MotoGP Austria: Miller: “Dovizioso a gentleman”

Jack Miller, graceful as ever has had some great words to say about Dovizioso following Dovizioso’s race win at Austria.

Dovizioso announced his split with Ducati on the Saturday before the race in Austria, just to follow this up with a race win. This move hit Jack in a good place, saying “Andrea is a great champion and a gentleman, winning after what happened over the weekend”.

Dovizioso split with Ducati with no ‘Plan B’, he has guts to leave one of the best bikes with no back up that is for sure. Ducati’s 100% win record at Austria continued for another week ahead of the Styrian GP where many riders will be looking to win, including Miller.

“I had a positive feeling all weekend, so much so that I was riding the bike how I wanted and would have liked to give Ducati a win” stated the Australian who will be able to take advantage of a race weekend at the same track and use a similar race set up. Only this time Jack is looking to win the race.

Miller took third place overall in Austria with a Ducati 1-2 on the line but a last corner mistake allowed an eager Joan Mir though to take his maiden podium in second for Suzuki.

In his ‘diary‘ with Red Bull, Miller commented on Dovizioso leaving Ducati saying “With ‘Dovi’, I was hoping to be his teammate next year when I come up to the factory team, so I’m disappointed on a personal level, definitely. But he’s made the decision, so you’ve got to back it. The guy has been here a long time and he knows what he’s doing.”
