WSBK News: Estoril will replace Misano as final race of the season
Estoril will return to the WSBK Race calendar and the 2020 season will end here replacing Misano on October 16th-18th.
For the first time in history, WSBK will host two Portugese races with Portimao being the other circuit, the last time WSBK raced at Estoril was in 1993 with the circuit also hosting the first ever season in 1988.
The FIM President, Jorge Viegas commented: “I am glad that it was possible to add a second round in Portugal and to see WorldSBK returning to Circuito Estoril, which had already hosted this very competitive championship in its founding year back in 1988 and then in 1993. I would like to thank DWO, Circuito Estoril and the Portuguese Federation for making it possible to organise the final round of the 2020 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship in Portugal.”
The Estoril organisers are yet to decide whether to allow fans and media to the circuit or not, with a decision expected to be taken closer to the race.
