Following his crash on Sunday, reigning world champion Marc Marquez has undergone surgery on his right arm
It was a valiant recovery by Marc Marquez after his off track excursion during the Jerez race which he led at the time, the rider fought his way through the field to take P3 behind Maverick Vinales.
However it wasn’t meant to be after a hi-side catapulted the Spaniard out of the race. Sat in the gravel trap holding his arm, you could tell it was serious.
Today Marquez was successfully operated on in Barcelona and is expected to make a full recovery.
The most important part to all this is that there’s is no damage to the nerves which could have potentially ended the riders career.
Dr Xavier Mir has said that the goal is to get Marquez back on track at Round 3, Brno. If this is the case then the rider will have only lost a potential 50 points.
