Moto2 Aragon FP2: Injured Raul Fernandez leads KTM 1-2
Raul Fernandez isn’t letting a broken metacarpal stop him from being fast.
Raul Fernandez comes into the weekend at Aragon with a broken metacarpal, yet despite this he is still leading the way taking P1 heading into qualifying in the fastest session Moto2 has seen all weekend, very impressive from the rookie, he led his teammate Remy Gardner by 0.115 with the Red Bull KTM Ajo riders the only two riders to break the 1:52 barrier etching closer to Sam Lowes’ 1:51.296 lap record, Lowes was the third quickest rider only 0.044 from a 1:51 lap time proving he’s got the pace to battle for the front.
Jorge Navarro led his ex-teammate Fabio Diggia in P5, Navarro has been officially confirmed to race for the Pons team in 2022 on a Kalex, his recent boost of form following an update to the Boscoscuro front end enabling him to take a podium at Silverstone.
Marco Bezzecchi led an Aspar Boscoscuro duo with Albert Arenas in P7, Arenas really showing some speed this weekend and is majorly impressive leading Aron Canet, stand in rider Fermin Aldeguer took home P11 meaning all four Boscoscuro riders have made their way into Q2.
In P14 Ai Ogura was the last man in Q2 by only 0.032 ahead of Marcel Schrotter, getting in by the skin of his teeth! Riders who will have to go via Q1 later include Joe Roberts, Hector Garzo, Tony Arbolino, and Bo Bendsneyder.
