Moto3 Mugello FP1: Andrea Migno kicks off proceedings

Andrea Migno was the fastest man in this morning’s Moto3 FP1 session.

It was an Italian 1-2 this morning at the Italian Grand Prix with previous winners Andrea Migno and Romano Fenati leading the way with many looking forward to Sunday’s action with the Mugello Moto3 race being one of the best of the year. Migno was able to beat his former teammate by a huge 0.495 seconds to first place as the Italians look to win on home soil come Sunday.

Jaume Masia finished the session in third place despite picking up an injury in the wet Le Mans, he was forced to miss the Catalunya test and was replaced by Diogo Moreira who is racing in the Red Bull Rookies at the same circuit this weekend, Jaume leads Antonelli by 0.193 with Darryn Binder in third place.

Turkish hotshot Deniz Oncu and Dennis Foggia were the final riders within one second of leader Andrea Migno as the times massively space out going down the order.

Further down the line we see Stefano Nepa in P11, the Italian rider has some fortune here in the Italian championship and given how crazy Moto3 is these days he isn’t out of the realm of possibility for a podium finish on Italian soil ahead of Tatsuki Suzuki who is as Italian as you’ll get without actually being Italian.

Moto3 title leader Pedro Acosta is a little further down the order in P14 ahead of the two wildcarding riders of Elia Bartolini and Alberto Surra who are riding for the VR46 team.
