MotoGP Future Talent: Daniel Holgado
16-year-old Spanish rider Daniel Holgado is one of the fastest up and coming riders.
At the time of writing 16-year old rider Daniel Holgado currently leads the CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship and the Red Bull Rookies Cup, granted the CEV Junior World Championship has only raced one race so far this season but he is 1 of 1 is a great start. Looking over at the Red Bull Rookies he has 1 race win, 1 podium and 2 x P4 finishes in four rounds of the Red Bull Rookies cup which is responsible for the likes of Pedro Acosta, Jorge Martin, Joan Mir, Johann Zarco and many more riders.
At 16 years old he holds much promise as he comes into his third season in the Junior World Championship riding for the Aspar Team who were crowned the 2020 champions. One thing which really strikes out about the rider is his consistency on track, in 2020 every CEV Moto3 race he finished he was inside of the top 5 with 2 podiums to his name in P5 overall, in the same year in the Red Bull Rookies he had a similar record bar a P13 in Valencia whereby he stood on the podium in nearly every race he finished which is quite an achievement, this still only took him to P5 overall highlighting the level of competition he is up against.

Honestly after starting the 2020 season at just 14 years old and finishing with a record like that is majorly impressive, looking back even further to 2019 he raced again in the CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship and was one of the youngest riders in the class even being forced to miss the opening round of the season as he was too young at 13 years old, this ride in the class was a promotion within the Estrella Galicia team whom he raced for in the European Talent Cup, the team felt he was better suited to a full-size Moto3 bike and would promote him into the incredibly competitive and ruthless class, the move would either make or break his career.
As previously mentioned he was one of the youngest in the class in 2019 but still managed to pull off two podiums and once again was within the top 5 for nearly every race showing some huge consistency.
Moving into 2021 he has started the season off with a bang in both the Red Bull Rookies Cup and the CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship leading both of them, if he can build on this consistency with more podiums and race wins there is no reason why he cannot strongly contest for the title in both classes before a promotion to the World Championship in 2022.
