Marc Marquez leads the way in session one at Jerez

Starting as he means to go on, Marc Marquez leads the way in session one at Jerez ahead of Alex Rins then Fabio Quatararo

Marquez is looking to clinch his 9th World Championship this season, equalling him to Valentino Rossi and has shown he means business leading session one by 0.252.

The top 10 was also occupied by Aleix Espargaro who is feeling very comfortable on the Aprilia in 4th place, with notable mention Francesco Bagnaia rounding out the top 10.

Maverick Vinales will be looking to improve in the next session as he finished in P13 overall and the slowest Yamaha with Petronas SRT riders Fabio Quatararo and Franco Morbidelli finishing in P5 and P10 respectively.
