MotoGP: Alex Rins not giving up just yet
Alex Rins won’t give up his title fight just yet with two races to go.
In the second half of the season, Alex Rins has shot up the championship standings, going from P14 all the way up to a tied P3 overall, just 37 points from championship leader Joan Mir, tied with Fabio Quartararo with the Frenchman pushing ahead in the standings thanks to his three race wins.
Alex Rins, despite being 37 points behind, still believes he is in with a chance of the title, refusing to give up hope just yet saying, “I am so happy for 20 championship points, Joan Mir was pushing and I made a mistake with the gear which cost me first place.
He overtook me and I tried to keep the same distance, but he was so fast, I was struggling with the rear tyre when Mir overtook me, I was riding with the same lap times as before, but he demonstrated he was faster.”
There are two more races left, Joan has opened a big lap but we will continue fighting for podiums and wins. There is still a chance 37 points away but we will try to do it.”
It really does make you wonder where he would be if it wasn’t for his injury which has plagued him throughout the season, causing much pain and fatigue, if it was not for this, we could be seeing both Suzuki boys battling it out for the championship on level points.
