MotoGP Emilia Romagna: Maverick Vinales shakes off his demons to win – Full results
Maverick Vinales wins at Misano 2 following a mental struggle last weekend.
It was meant to be the first win of Francesco Bagnaia but destiny said no, Bagnaia made a mistake which caused him to crash out, handing the lead to Maverick Vinales who rode a perfect race at the front, applying the pressure to Bagnaia forcing his mistake.
It was an unbelievable race from Joan Mir, the Spaniard came from P11 to P2 in the race, managing to overtake Fabio Quartararo and Pol Espargaro following a struggle by Quartararo to get the business done. Mir had undeniable pace, picking riders off with ease to take the second place.
Pol Espargaro held off Fabio Quartararo all race, forcing Quartararo into mistakes, riding on the green and eventually being penalised for doing so, handing Espargaro the third-place spot, demoting the Frenchman to fourth ahead of Miguel Oliveira.
Major shout out to Iker Lecuona who was running in sixth all race before a crash. Speaking of crashes, we had our fair share of them with Brad Binder crashing twice, Valentino Rossi, Aleix Espargaro and Franco Morbidelli all tasting the gravel with race leader Francesco Bagnaia.
