Moto2 Indonesia FP2: Jake Dixon ends day one in P1
British rider Jake Dixon blasts his way to the top of the timesheets in Indonesia.
Jake Dixon rocketed up the timesheets late into the session to lead the way by more than half a second to Celestino Vietti in second place, securing himself a provisional Q2 spot ahead of tomorrow with Sam Lowes rounding out the top three, the British rider suffering a late crash into the session.
Joining this trio in the top five were the Red Bull KTM Ajo boys with Pedro Acosta sitting in P4 and Augusto Fernandez in P5, Acosta suffered a crash under yellow flags during the session and could potentially receive a penalty for this but remains in P4 for the time being.
Youngster Fermin Aldeguer finished up in sixth fastest ahead of Dixon’s teammate Albert Arenas ahead of Tony Arbolino who came together with Vietti mid-session.
Aron Canet suffered a crash however was able to return to the track and improve his lap time to finish in P9 ahead of the only rider with previous experience here, Manuel Gonzalez.
