Moto3 Emilia Romagna FP2: Pedro Acosta leads the way

Pedro Acosta was the quickest man in FP2 heading into qualifying tomorrow.

Pedro Acosta pulled out the fastest lap time during FP2 this afternoon in Misano to lead wet weather specialist Alberto Surra by 0.783 seconds, Acosta knows he can take the title this weekend and is going to be doing all he can to win the race, if he wins the race and Dennis Foggia is P12 or less then he is champion, it’s a tall order for the rookie rider and it’s fairly unlikely we will see the title won this weekend but anything can happen! If Acosta can maximise the points scored in Misano going into Portimao then he has a lot less work to do in a few weeks time.

Ayumu Sasaki was third fastest overall, the Japanese rider has been confirmed to move to Husqvarna for 2022 next to John McPhee for a title challenge with Max Biaggi’s squad, he is performing fairly strongly this weekend and enjoys the wet conditions, he led Niccolo Antonelli in fourth as Filip Salac rounded off the top 5 with a late crash in the session.

Finishing in P6 was Yuki Kunii ahead of Stefano Nepa and replacement rider Daniel Holgado who both put in late lap times to rocket their way up the timesheets and gain provisional Q2 spots ahead of tomorrows qualifying session, rounding out the top 10 were Tatsuki Suzuki and Riccardo Rossi with Andi Farid Izdihar in P11.

Further down the order we saw last time winner Izan Guevara struggling in P17 and title contender Dennis Foggia in P22.
