WorldSBK Argentina FP3: Toprak Razgatlıoğlu continues his domination
Toprak Razgatlıoğlu continues his reign over WorldSBK leading all three practice sessions.
Toprak Razgatlıoğlu continues to dominate in Argentina once again in FP3 after leading the field in both FP1 and FP2 sessions on Friday, not only this but he has done so with blistering pace leading second-placed Scott Redding by 0.405 seconds despite the top 10 riders all improving their times in the session, he knows he has the chance to take the title on Sunday and he is stopping at nothing to achieve that, even if he fails to reach the points gap required to be crowned the champion this time out he will be safe knowing he has done all to try and take it this weekend.
Joining the title leader in the top three are Scott Redding then Jonathan Rea who clocked in an identical lap time to Garrett Gerloff in fourth place of a 1:37.764, Gerloff clearly finding something spectacular in the past weeks to rocket his way up the sessions and is truly in contention for the podium later on today providing his terrible qualifying luck doesn’t come back to haunt him, there’s no doubt he’s fast enough to win races in this championship and once his confidence is back he will be back up there! Rounding out the top five is Michael Ruben Rinaldi who finished 0.888 seconds behind Razgatlıoğlu.
Alex Lowes makes his return in sixth place, Kawasaki will be gunning for him to improve this later on with their title hopes slowly fading away, he has to take points off Razgatlıoğlu to aid his teammate, talk about pressure eh?! Leon Haslam finished just behind with Axel Bassani in a cool P8 ahead of Michael van der Mark and birthday boy Andrea Locatelli who shares his birthday with his teammate, both are 25 today!
