WorldSBK Jerez FP1: Toprak Razgatlıoğlu fastest

The 2021 WorldSBK title leader Toprak Razgatlıoğlu opened the weekend in P1.

Toprak Razgatlıoğlu continues his 2021 season in fine form opening up this weekends racing at Jerez in P1, he led most of the session thanks to a timesheet leading time partway through FP1 before improving to come just 0.075 seconds from a 1:39 lap time, the record here is 1:38.247 meaning there is a lot of scope to improve his time. He led an in form Michael Ruben Rinaldi in second place who put in a very late time to finish in second only 0.086 seconds behind the Turkish rider with Jonathan Rea in third place.

Alex Lowes came home in a solid fourth given he only completed six laps after getting injured last week in Catalunya, a really strong showing from the Kawasaki man who led Leon Haslam and Andrea Locatelli who suffered a crash, the young Italian beat Michael van der Mark to sixth by just 0.007 seconds.

Axel Bassani rounded out the top 10 after taking his maiden podium last weekend in Catalunya, he was the second fastest independent rider this morning behind Garrett Gerloff in ninth.

Loris Baz impressed in his return finishing just over a second back to Razgatlıoğlu in P11 in his first ride of the WorldSBK Spec Ducati V4 R.
