WorldSBK Magny Cours FP3: Scott Redding leads with brutal pace

Scott Redding led the FP3 session at Magny Cours breaking into the 1:36’s.

Scott Redding blasted his way to P1 in the FP3 session at Magny Cours, his lap times coming increasingly closer to the 1:35 barrier which is home to the lap record of 1:35.696 set by Tom Sykes in 2018, Redding led the session by 0.285 seconds to Toprak Razgatlioglu in second place who is desperate to be able to outscore Jonathan Rea this weekend and attempt to break away in the championship standings with the duo in a deadlock at 311 points.

Taking third place was Garrett Gerloff who suffered a rather embarrassing crash with his teammate Kohta Nozanne, thankfully but there OK and Gerloff was able to show he still has the pace to battle at the front with a lap time only 0.316 from Redding’s rapid time. Rounding out the top five were teammates Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes split by 0.243 seconds, the Kawasaki boys showing they have enough to be competitive today.

In sixth place we saw rookie Andrea Locatelli jump back up the timesheets after struggling a little in tricky conditions yesterday, he led Chaz Davies and Tom Sykes with Leon Haslam and Michael Ruben Rinaldi rouinding off the top 10.
