Moto3 Austria FP3: Rookie Izan Guevara leads into qualifying
Moto3 rookie Izan Guevara leads the way into qualifying.
Izan Guevara banged in a strong lap time late into the FP3 session to take the lead going into qualifying, we saw a chaotic final few laps of the session with the entire field bunched together trying to get through into the Q2 session and with only 14 spots available you can imagine it was chaos.
Last time poleman Deniz Oncu has continued his form this weekend riding incredibly strong all weekend long, finishing 0.066 away from Guevara, there’s no doubt that Oncu will be aiming for another pole position this weekend to get the best start to his race possible following from a disaster last time out, he led Sergio Garcia in third place who will desperately be wanting to take a win after last weekends battle with Pedro Acosta who managed to get through to Q2 this week by the skin of his teeth finishing in P14 overall, right on the tipping point.
In fourth place Gabriel Rodrigo led four Honda’s down to P7 with him and his teammate Jeremy Alcoba making solid improvements this weekend after a rather tough time last time out to go directly into Q2 alongside John McPhee and Dennis Foggia.
Jaume Masia rounded off the top 10 with Filip Salac and Tatsuki Suzuki also getting through into Q2, for some riders they will have to go via the gruelling Q1 session including Andrea Migno, Kaito Toba, Adrian Fernandez and Riccardo Rossi.
