Moto2 Styria Qualifying: Remy Gardner takes pole, Ogura first front row

Remy Gardner takes another Moto2 pole position as he aims to extend his title lead.

Remy Gardner stormed his way to yet another Moto2 pole position this year as he aims to extend his title lead this tomorrow, he managed to hold onto pole position despite the cancellation of his fastest lap for track limits infringements, it’s not going to be an easy job though for the Australian rider with the level of talent around him.

Joining him on the front row is the superb Ai Ogura, Ogura has impressed under the radar all year long and finally his efforts are being rewarded with an outstanding front row start only 0.121 seconds behind Gardner, the Japanese rider could be on for a podium tomorrow especially if the weather is tricky tomorrow. Marco Bezzecchi also starts on the front row only 0.022 seconds behind Ogura with strong history at the circuit winning here last year.

Raul Fernandez is fresh off the back of his Tech3 MotoGP contract and has been able to qualify at the front of the second row putting in some solid laps at the end of the session ahead of Aron Canet, Canet took pole position here last year before crashing early on in the race, this year with an extra year under his belt he will be aiming to take another podium finish on his Aspar Boscoscuro.

Underrated rider Lorenzo Dalla Porta took a very impressive eighth-place start on the grid, a rider who has been massively under the radar this year and performing during qualifying and practice sessions, fingers crossed for a solid result tomorrow, he needs it!

Marcel Schrotter rounded off the top 10 0.570 seconds from pole with many strong riders starting way down including Joe Roberts in P20 and Jorge Navarro in P25.
