Moto3 Mugello FP2: Darryn Binder improves to P1

Darryn Binder improves on this morning to take P1 in Mugello.

Darryn Binder was the fastest rider in the lightweight Moto3 class today in Mugello topping the timesheets overall leading the FP2 session in the Tuscan hills, this follows a fairly solid start to his weekend this morning where he finished in P5, he leads Dennis Foggia this afternoon by just 0.196 seconds as Foggia aims to take a race win on home soil, it won’t be easy for him though given the level of talent in the class.

John McPhee was the third-placed rider, he took his first points of the season last time out at Le Mans and will be looking for some silverware here in Mugello, the race will be impossible to predict with any of the top 20 riders within a shot of victory come Sunday.

Rounding off the top 5 are Romano Fenati and Gabriel Rodrigo with the latter crashing out of the lead on more than one occasion this year, he really needs to sort this out otherwise he could see himself out of a seat next year with nothing to fall back on. Tatsuki Suzuki finished ahead of Niccolo Antonelli and Deniz Oncu, the trio finishing ahead of this mornings fastest rider Andrea Migno.

Jaume Masia rounded off the top 10 with last-time podium finisher Riccardo Rossi in P11.
