MotoGP Doha Warm Up: Johann Zarco on top

Johann Zarco leads the MotoGP warm-up session as he eyes his first victory in the class.

We could finally see a back flip from Johann Zarco in the premier class after waiting since 2016 from his last victory, Zarco is looking unbelievably strong on the Pramac Ducati GP21 and will start today’s Grand Prix from P2 on the grid behind his rookie teammate Jorge Martin who sensationally took a shock pole position yesterday, Martin finished this mornings warm-up session in P5 and the Pramac boys are looking very tough.

Stuck between these Pramac boys is a Yamaha trio consisting of Fabio Quartararo, Maverick Vinales and Franco Morbidelli in that order, Morbidelli seeming to have fixed the issues which have plagued him these last few weeks, he is still riding the 2019 Yamaha unlike the other riders on the 2021 machine.

Francesco Bagnaia was the sixth-fastest rider ahead of champion Joan Mir who was able to improve his qualifying and will start today’s race from P9 giving him less work to do to arrive at the front. Aleix Espargaro in P8 finished the closest Aprilia ever have finished to a Grand Prix winner in the season opener last weekend, let’s see if he can improve this today.

Alex Rins and Takaaki Nakagami capped off the top 10 as Valentino Rossi once again struggled in P18.
