MotoGP Portimao: Mika Kallio to replace Iker Lecuona

MotoGP Veteran Mika Kallio will replace Iker Lecuona in the Tech3 team for Portimao.

Due to Iker Lecuona testing positive for COVID-19 at the Valencian GP, he is required to isolate and therefore will not take part in this weekend’s Grand Prix in Portimao, therefore KTM have drafted in veteran Mika Kallio to replace him.

Ironically, the youngest rider on the grid will be replaced by one of the oldest as the 38-year-old ex-125cc and Moto2 runner up KTM test rider steps up to take Lecuona’s place.

Kallio boasts a wealth of experience and will be able to provide the Tech3 squad with some valuable data in his MotoGP return.
