MotoGP: Maverick Vinales takes pole obliterating the lap record, Yamaha 1-2-3-4

Yamaha are on fine form at Misano, leading every session so far and now pole position.

For the first time in the MotoGP era, we have a top 4 dominated by Yamaha, led by Maverick Vinales who destroyed the lap record to take pole position.

Maverick Vinales pipped Franco Morbidelli to take the pole position by 0.376, breaking the lap record set by Jorge Lorenzo in 2018 by 0.218.

Fabio Quartararo was the third-fastest man today with Valentino Rossi in fourth place, Yamaha have taken full advantage of the new tarmac this weekend.

The Pramac Ducati boys were the next two riders with Jack Miller in fifth place ahead of his teammate Francesco Bagnaia who closed off the second row.

Alex Rins heads the third row ahead of his teammate Joan Mir, a top 10 dominated by teammates. The top 10 is rounded off by Ducati’s with Andrea Dovizioso the last man on the third row with Zarco heading the fourth row.
