MotoGP Styria: Pol Espargaro takes pole position
Pol takes Pole! Waited years to say that… KTM have a pole position in their home race at Austria with Pol Espargaro doing the business.
Pol Espargaro has taken his first MotoGP class pole position at Austria, he is followed by Takaaki Nakagami on the front row who takes his first front row.
Johann Zarco takes P3 in the session whilst recovering from his operation, coming from Q1. However, will start tomorrows race from the pit lane following his sanction after the incident in the Austrian GP.
Joan Mir is the fastest Suzuki taking his best qualifying results in fourth place, he is joined on the second row by Jack Miller and Maverick Vinales.
Row three was unpredictable, Alex Rins finished in the seventh position ahead of Miguel Oliveira who will be looking to improve following his little rivalry with Espargaro. Last weeks winner Andrea Dovizioso ended the session in ninth but as we all know, he is a Sunday man and will be on the pace.
Fabio Quartararo’s woes continue this weekend, qualifying in 10th only 0.286 from pole position.
