MotoGP Brno: Johann Zarco takes pole position!

In his first pole since Le Mans 2018 with Yamaha, Johann Zarco beats countryman to pole position at Brno.

Fabio Quartararo did his best to beat Zarco however crashed in the second to last corner, giving Zarco the pole watch. It is the first-ever French 1-2 in qualifying.

Pol Espargaro led the session briefly before Zarco put in a 1:55.687 time to knock Pol to P2. Pol’s time was eventually taken away from him due to yellow flag infringement.

The Avintia team have been back-markers on the grid for some time now, this is their first-ever pole position.

Franco Morbidelli takes P3, rounding off an all satellite front row yet again. Aleix Espargaro impressed with a P4, close to Aprilia’s first front-row start with Maverick Vinales and Pol Espargaro rounding off the second row.

The third row was opened by Brad Binder, just behind teammate Espargaro, he is joined by Petrucci and Mir with Rossi rounding off the top 10.
