MotoGP Misano FP3: Francesco Bagnaia in P1

Francesco Bagnaia takes P1 overall in the combined sessions.

Francesco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo become the first riders to make their way into the 1:31’s in the FP3 session to top the combined timesheets after a late shootout in Misano with Maverick Vinales making his way into Q2 for the first time on the Aprilia occupying the P5 spot behind Jack Miller and Joan Mir who join him in the top five.

For Suzuki they were able to put some of their demons to bed this weekend with both Alex Rins and Joan Mir securing themselves Q2 spots after famously consistently struggling to qualify anywhere of note in the last two seasons, this form is likely to be temporary as we’ve seen in the past by Suzuki’s up and down nature but it bodes well for this weekend.

Johann Zarco’s arrival into the top 10 means we have 5 Ducati’s in Q2 later today which is fairly unbelievable to have 50% of Q2 dominated by one manufacturer with Jorge Martin and Michele Pirro rounding out the top 10, Pirro doing gods work once again for Ducati, worth his weight in gold that man.

There were many riders who were forced to go via Q1 with Takaaki Nakagami and Stefan Bradl just missing out of the Q2 session in P11 and P12 with Marc Marquez and Franco Morbidelli in P13 and P14.
