WorldSBK Catalunya FP2: Toprak Razgatlıoğlu sets fastest time of the weekend
Toprak Razgatlıoğlu was the quickest man overall in FP2.
Toprak Razgatlıoğlu once again shows what he’s made of as he attempts to extend his title lead at Catalunya following from a double win at Magny Cours which saw him break the deadlock between himself and Jonathan Rea, taking hold of the title lead. In FP2 Rea was unable to match his FP1 speed as he aimed on working on his set-up and consistency ahead of race one tomorrow finishing in P4. Between Razgatlıoğlu and Rea we saw Michael Ruben Rinaldi and Andrea Locatelli finish in the top three positions, both riders within 0.250 seconds of Razgatlıoğlu.
Finishing just 0.010 seconds behind Rea was ex-teammate Tom Sykes on the BMW then Scott Redding who dramatically improves on this morning’s P13 nightmare to finish in a decent P6 only 0.503 seconds from leader Razgatlıoğlu.
Team HRC had a solid session finishing just behind Alex Lowes in P8 and P9 with Garrett Gerloff rounding out the top 10 as the fastest independent rider with Axel Bassani within touching distance on the Ducati.
