WSBK Jerez: Loris Baz tops the FP1 timesheets
WSBK is back with a bang! Four manufacturers end FP1 in the top four.
Loris Baz took command of the session leading Jonathan Rea by 0.062 whilst the top 10 were separated by half a second. The top four manufacturers were only split by 0.200.
Ex-MotoGP stars Alvaro Bautista and Scott Redding followed closely on the Honda and Ducati respectively with Chaz Davies rounding off the top 5
The Yamaha pair of Toprak Razgatlioglu and Michael van der Mark placed in P6 and P7 respectively. Just behind the pair was Leon Haslam on the Honda who will be happy to have beaten his Kawasaki replacement and title leader Alex Lowes by only 0.003. Rookie and exciting prospect Garrett Gerloff rounded off the top 10 just 0.484 from Baz.
Marco Melandri’s return from retirement has ended in P12 overall on the Barni Ducati.
