Moto2 Le Mans FP3: Raul Fernandez takes the honours in the wet
Raul Fernandez is the fastest man in the FP3 Moto2 session.
Wet weather continues to plague MotoGP with the Moto2 boys continuing to be the least affected by what is going on after Moto3 and MotoGP are subjected to hell on earth. Moto2’s rookie sensation Raul Fernandez was the fastest rider in the FP3 session, he currently sits in P3 in the championship only 6 points behind his teammate Remy Gardner as the times are not improved on the FP2 session.
Jorge Navarro is feeling the pressure this weekend with Alonso Lopez and Fermin Aldeguer in the paddock, both riders are impressing in the CEV with Lopez replacing the injured Montella for the rest of the weekend meaning the Boscoscuro eyes are on Navarro who has struggled to impress and he could see himself out of a ride if he doesn’t improve, thinking about this we see Navarro in P2 today in tricky conditions, lets hope he can pull a result out of the bag, he finished ahead of Augusto Fernandez who is showing steady improvements.
Tony Arbolino was the fourth fastest rider, he spent much of his time lapping behind Sam Lowes and Fabio Diggia who provided him with a pathway to follow and learn a lot lapping in P4 today with Aron Canet rounding off the top 5.
Jake Dixon had a good end to the session in P6 after suffering technical issues whilst rolling out of pit lane for the first time in FP3, he managed to get his bike back to the pits and his team fixed it allowing him to set a solid lap time ahead of his compatriot Sam Lowes with Marco Bezzecchi just behind in P8, he was one of the first riders to go out on slick tyres in a very ballsy move from the Italian.
Ai Ogura and Joe Roberts rounded off the top 10 with Roberts going through Q1 later today. Hafizh Syahrin was a rider who was running in the top spots during the session, you don’t need me to tell you how strong the Malaysian rider is in the wet. Moto2 title leader Remy Gardner struggled to P18 but has pace in the dry so isn’t worried.
