Qatar Test Day 5 Results: Danilo Petrucci tops uneventful day
Danilo Petrucci leads a field of 5 riders today in the final day of Qatar testing.
Danilo Petrucci led the final day of MotoGP testing at Qatar in which only Honda and KTM riders dared to take to the track.
The reason why only 5 riders tested today was due to heavy winds in Qatar which caused lots of sand and dust to settle on the track making it dirty, because of this riders could not get the right feeling on their motorcycles meaning that they are unable to test properly due to a lack of feeling and stability. Most of the day was red-flagged.
Danilo Petrucci was the first rider to brave the track, posting 2 laps before returning to his pit box with a lap time over the 2-minute mark. Eventually, more riders would take to the track with similar result with Nakagami completing the most laps with 12 in total and Binder in a close second with 11, Binder would occupy the P4 slot behind Nakagami in P3.
Stefan Bradl again would take to the track posting just 3 laps as his Repsol Honda counterpart Pol Espargaro would be the slowest rider which given the conditions is understandable.
It’s not all doom and gloom though, many riders took to the track to practice their practice starts ahead of the double race weekend ahead of us.
