WorldSBK: Lowes injures shoulder in training accident
Alex Lowes has suffered a shoulder injury in a training accident.
Alex Lowes has suffered an injured shoulder in a training crash and will need 2/3 weeks to recover. The British rider remains with KRT WorldSBK for 2021 following from his Yamaha move at the end of 2019, he scored 4 podiums including a Phillip Island win during the 2020 season and took some impressive results whilst riding with crippling sickness.
Kawasaki have confirmed that Lowes suffered a training crash which has forced him to miss the opening season test at Jerez, this causes a strain on the team given that they had to cancel their previous test at the same track due to bad weather.
A Kawasaki spokesperson confirmed the injury saying, “Alex crashed training Flat Track in his personal winter test program, and because he damaged a bit the shoulder, doctors recommend he rest for two or three weeks.
“So, we prefer to not force him. Soon he will be on the bike, and this is just a small stone on the way to success.”
He has at least 8 weeks to recover ahead of the season opener at Assen on the 23-25th April.
